This program immerses the pilgrim in original Franciscan stories, with time to deepen an awareness of the Order’s history, spirituality, and the Franciscan way of life. You will explore significant places that played a role in the conversion processes of SS. Francis and Clare and their followers, visiting several sanctuaries not covered in our shorter programs. The hidden power of sacred places will be experienced through extensive lectures, rituals, prayer, Eucharistic celebrations, study, and time shared with pilgrim companions. In addition to visiting all of the significant sites in Assisi, you will spend time in the Rieti Valley and Rome and experience the beauty of Mount La Verna, the island named Isola Maggiore, in the center of Lake Trasimeno, and the hermitage of Le Celle di Cortona, in Tuscany. This lengthy program is specifically designed to provide more time for reflection and prayer.
